Mission

Our Mission

To create a stimulating, nurturing environment where children can develop intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially while adults become better parents through education, observation, and community support.

Our Philosophy

At Parents Nursery School (PNS), we believe that families thrive when children are given ample space to explore, pretend, and learn through play, and parents are actively involved in their child’s education. We also believe that parents become more effective and connected when given the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of early childhood development through parent education, informal observation, and community exchange.

PNS provides an environment where families work together in the true cooperative spirit to create a positive learning environment for the children and the parents.

Play-Based Learning

PNS provides children and their families with a nurturing, play-based curriculum helping children develop in all areas including creativity, cooperation, peaceful conflict resolution, positive communication, fine and gross motor skills and kindergarten readiness. Our unique participatory structure allows parents to be involved in their children’s preschool education.

PNS embraces the joyful and spontaneous benefits children receive from exploring and experimenting in a safe and nurturing environment. We believe that this natural and important activity called “play” is what enhances cognitive, social, and emotional development in children. The merits of play as a vehicle for imagination, discovery, invention, problem solving, social interaction, self-regulation, creativity, role playing, and language and literacy development are limitless. Our teachers make it their priority to create an environment where children have many choices and opportunities for creating, communicating, and discovering through play and for following their emerging interests.

The teachers and parent helpers strive to engage, mediate, and facilitate the children’s play through sensory and motor activities, art projects, song, stories, and lots of time to play.

So come…and play with us!
